Reasons for War
In 1861 there was a great disagreement between the north and the south of the United States. The Constitution was newly ratified for the country and the southern states did not agree to the fine print. The main causes of the civil war were the United States trying to abolish slavery and bring the country together and be more of a whole nation and not just Independent states

The Civil War Begins
On April 12, 1861 commander of the Confederate forces Opened fire on the Union holding fort Sumter. The very next afternoon the Union commander surrender. The fort was evacuated of Union soldiers the next on April 14th. The war was not over here. In fact the war carried on for about 4 more years. This was the beginning. From this day the American citizens were at war with each other.
